Guides agency leaders, clinicians, trainers, and others in optimizing service provision to children and families affected by trauma by prompting reflection on the basic clinical skills needed prior to receiving training in or implementing an evidence-based treatment (EBT). This position statement outlines the foundational clinical skills and competencies needed before implementing evidence-based trauma treatments. It supports agency leaders, clinicians, and trainers in ensuring that services for children and families affected by trauma are delivered with fidelity, competence, and quality.
