Oregon Program Helping Girls Face Adolescent Challenges Willamette Family Inc. (WF) is a multi-facility substance abuse treatment center located in Eugene, Oregon. In addition to a full array of adult services, the agency operates the ITS-GIRLS (Integrated Treatment Services for Girls) program, which serves adolescent females with substance abuse, mental health, and trauma issues. In today’s culture, adolescent girls face ongoing social oppression and victimization, and have enormous challenges to nurturing themselves and their children. ITS-GIRLS takes on those challenges for the clients in the program, and promotes healing and resiliency for a life free from substance abuse and the effects of untreated childhood trauma. (Continued) Dr. Bradley Stein Given Award for Excellence Dr. Bradley Stein, MD, PhD, received the 2006 Norbert and Charlotte Rieger Service Program Award for Excellence from the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. This award was established in 1996 to recognize innovative programs that address prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of mental illnesses in children and adolescents, and serve as model programs to the community.
