Following disasters or emergencies, the PFA Mobile™ app can assist responders who provide Psychological First Aid (PFA) to adults, families, and children. Materials in PFA Mobile™ are adapted from the Psychological First Aid Field Operations Guide (2nd Edition). PFA Mobile™ allows responders to:
- Review the 8 core PFA actions
- Match PFA interventions to specific stress reactions of survivors
- Hear mentor tips for applying PFA in the field
- Self-assess to determine their readiness to conduct PFA
- Assess and track survivors’ needs—simplifying data collection and making referrals

PFA Mobile™ is now available for mobile Apple devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch). It will be available for Android devices in 2013.
Use PFA Mobile™
PFA Mobile™ lets responders review PFA guidelines and assess their readiness to deliver PFA in the field. The app provides additional support when the responder is in the field by providing tips on different survivor groups (infant/toddler, preschool, school-age, adolescent, adult) and keeping track of survivor concerns and referral needs. Resource links are included to facilitate referrals. PFA Mobile™ supplements other resources that trained individuals utilize before, during, and after a disaster response.
IMPORTANT! PFA Mobile™ does not replace PFA training. To receive training, enroll in PFA online, a free 6 hour interactive course. Free continuing education credits are available.
