ANDRUS is seeking a talented, self-motivated, curious and hard-working professional to join our residential program for girls.  Clinical social workers are key members of the clinical team, and are primarily responsible for the children and families on their caseload.  This responsibility means compiling a thorough history and assessment of the children and family through varied means, developing a comprehensive treatment plan along with the entire treatment team, leading and facilitating the team’s efforts to assist the children and families’ growth and change, and providing innovative treatment approaches both with the individual children and with the family when able.

The clinical social worker provides individual, family, and group therapy using a range of therapeutic models and techniques.  She or he maintains accurate and timely paperwork, monitors and leads the treatment plan review process and is an active and involved member of the campus teams. She or he is responsible for providing clinical practices that are highly effective, and participate in the ongoing acquisition of knowledge, a core commitment of both the agency and the department.

The clinical social worker is also responsible for successfully representing the agency at ongoing meetings, to include CSE reviews, treatment planning conferences, court hearings, and other professionally related events.  Excellent communication with children, families and school districts is a must.

It is required that the candidate possess an LCSW.  Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong skills in a variety of software applications, and strong organizational skills.  Clinical experience with trauma-informed treatment is a must. Licensed Clinical Social Worker

We are recruiting a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) to join the Mental Health Team of our hospital-based Child Advocacy Center at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.  Our program is a Category III Center of the NCTSN and has offices in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.  The LCSW reports to the Mental Health Director and is a part of a multidisciplinary team that includes licensed clinical social workers, licensed clinical psychologists, psychology postdoctoral fellows, case managers, pediatricians, and forensic interviewers.  He/she will provides evidence-based treatments to traumatized children and caregivers.  The primary treatment modalities are Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.  The LCSW also will conduct parenting capacity evaluations of caregivers.  Active collaboration with clinical staff and other multidisciplinary team members are important components of the position.  There also is the opportunity for appointment on the EVMS Division of Child Abuse Pediatrics faculty, for participation in research, and for program development activities. 
 
 

Qualifications: 

A Masters of Social Work is required. Candidate must also be eligible for licensure in Virginia as an LCSW.  Experience in evidence-based treatment of children, adolescents, and adults is desirable, as is experience working with maltreated children and their families. Forensic knowledge is a plus.  Successful candidates will be team players with excellent time management and communication skills.

We are seeking for the position of a Clinical Social Worker I to be the primary therapist to children living in out-of-home placement and their biological and/or foster families or the at-risk population.  The social worker utilizes the information gained by the interdisciplinary evaluation services in the development and implementation of a treatment plan for the child and his/her families. 
 

Qualifications: 

The Clinical Social Worker I provides weekly individual, family or group, psychotherapy services to foster children and their families many of whom may require Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT); attends interdisciplinary staffing to discuss and integrate the evaluation information and to develop a comprehensive treatment plan responding to the psychological and social needs of the client/family; collaborates with the referring agency, the local Department of Social Services, to assist them in utilizing the evaluation/treatment services in the development of the agency service plan for the child and the family; collaborates with the school system to assure children are receiving appropriate educational services if indicated; responds to the juvenile court system through written or oral progress reports when such is required in the juvenile court's development of a plan for the child and family; participates in peer consultation groups and/or individual supervision for review of clinical work; attends in-service clinical training programs, treatment planning meetings, and administrative meetings;  maintains client activity at the projected level set by the administrative staff; maintains medical record for each client seen including treatment plan and diagnostic interview at the initiation of therapy, weekly progress notes, periodic reviews, and termination summary; may participate in the field instruction program and supervise social work trainees when interest and capacity is demonstrated and may participate in community advocacy/ educational groups related to the needs of foster care children and their families.
